This former mill house is a 15-minute drive from the historic city of Cambridge, and is set in pretty, landscaped gardens. Close to Junction 10 of the M11, it is only 10 minutes’ drive from Duxford War Museum. Guests can enjoy a continental and a full English breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Sheene Mill’s restaurant, or in the conservatory, which has views of the gardens and mill pond. Local ingredients are used to produce delicious meals, served in a relaxed environment. Rooms are spacious and traditionally furnished, and retain charming original features like old wooden beams. Each also benefits from a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, and an en suite bathroom with free toiletries. Sheene Mill is surrounded by rolling countryside and a number of pretty villages and towns. Saffron Walden, which has a weekly market and a number of boutique shops, is only 30 minutes’ drive away.

Opened in 1994, the course was originally designed in consultation with Bruce Critchley, the BBC commentator and former Walker Cup player. The course has been under the same ownership since June 1995 during which time a programme of development has been undertaken including the building of a clubhouse (complete with bar, lounge area, golf shop and changing rooms), 12 bay driving range, practice green and irrigation system. The course's greens and tees are constructed to USGA specifications, which together with the extensive drainage and irrigation of all fairways provides excellent playing conditions throughout the year.
