Anne Hathaways Cottage - Historical Houses

Anne Hathaways Cottage - Historical Houses

Distance 6.05 miles (9.67 km)
The most romantic of all the Shakespearean properties, is Anne Hathaway's Cottage, which lies in the beautiful hamlet of Shottery, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. The cottage can still be reached by the footpaths over the fields, as it was in Shakespeare's time, when he came to court his future wife. This is where Anne Hathaway spent her childhood and youth, until at the age of eighteen, William Shakespeare and Anne were married in 1582. Today it is called a cottage, but in the sixteenth century it was a substantial farmhouse, known as Hewlands. The cottage was owned, and lived in by the Hathaway family and their descendants, until the late nineteenth century, when it was purchased by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.

Evesham Golf Club - Pershore - Golf

Evesham Golf Club - Pershore - Golf

Distance 6.42 miles (10.28 km)
The Course is located alongside the River Avon, which is featured on the 5th and 14th Holes, enjoying magnificent views of The Bredon, Malvern & Cotswold Hills, as well as the beautiful Vale of Evesham itself, within which it lies. Access is gained from the A44 Evesham to Worcester road ( formerly the A4385 ). Although it is, in principle, a Nine Hole Course, it has sufficient land to embrace Eighteen Tees of varying length and direction, so that the second nine is not a repeat of the first nine, which is generally the case on such Courses. Indeed, many holes have a different par rating.
