Great Hotel
We were welcomed by a very friendly gent when we arrived. The bedroom was more than comfortable, very clean and fresh. The bathroom too was clean and had plenty of toiletries if needed. Big bath towels too! Breakfast was good and all cooked fresh and to order. The lady who served us at breakfast was very welcoming and ever so friendly. I did ask her what it was like being a TV star :). As we had seen the Carlee hotel on TV recently on the programme 4 in a bed. Very down to earth and honest and at a great price too!. The Carlee Hotel is perfect as are the staff who run it. Well done and keep up the great work. You done us proud. Thank You. We would stay here again.

Great Place To Stay In Blackpool For A Short Visit
Really helpful and friendly staff. Claire contacted us in the morning because of a boiler problem, with the option to cancel. Our room wouldn't be affected so we continued with our visit.

Claire's dad met us when we arrived and was really helpful, advising on places to eat and providing a local map.

Facilities were exactly as you would expect, with lots of little extra's in the room such as cotton wool balls and buds, tissues, and plenty of tea/coffee/milk.

Breakfast was great - none of this help yourself to the cooked breakfast - cooked fresh and piping hot. Claire was really friendly, with no pressure for us to leave on time.

Definitely stay here again and would have no hesitation recommending The Carlee.

A Good Place With Old Fashioned Hospitality
Wanted something at a reasonable price, close to Tower Ballroom for a 1 night stay dance night. & had generally had good reviews. This the "Carlee" had in abundance with Claire & Ade making us most welcome, and room 5 having everything that a guest would need, including a bigger than bath white fluffy towel . A great Sunday morning quality breakfast, & a couple with a sense of humour, made all their guests welcome & really made our first [ and hopefully not the last] visit most enjoyable. Having previously stayed at Trump Tower, Las Vegas,The Hilton, Rotterdam,The Handlery, Union Square, San Francisco i can honestly say i enjoyed my stay at "Carlee" - horses for courses !!

Friendly And Welcoming
we stayed at Carlee for one night as we were visiting Blackpool for the Miss Dance Competition held at the Winter Gardens. There were 10 of us with ages ranging between 16 - 82!! Carlee is far enough away from the town and its many stag and hen parties! But close enough to walk into the centre (approx. 10 - 15 mins walk). We were given a warm welcome and had a lovely and comfortable stay at Carlee. The breakfast was very good and Claire was friendly and accommodating. She even let us leave our cars parked outside for the whole of Sunday even though we had checked out! We would not hesitate to recommend Carlee to anyone visiting Blackpool.

Fab Hotel
Great little hotel, Claire the proprietor thinks of all the little details from toiletries in the room to bringing you jug of milk for tea and coffee.

The breakfast was great even with freshly baked muffins.

A Great Stay
I stayed at the Carlee overnight on the 25 April 2015 with my partner and my 3 year old son. Clare the owner could not have been more friendly or hospitable. The place was very clean the breakfast superb. In a nutshell we cannot fault anything about it. We need to visit Blackpool on a regular basis and will be staying at the Carlee every time.

Blackpool Tower - Landmark

Blackpool Tower - Landmark

Distance 0.61 miles (0.97 km)
Blackpool Tower opened on 14th May 1894, with the aquarium existing as a stand a lone attraction from the late 1870's. The tower is 518ft 9inches tall, with the walk of faith at 380ft from street level. The Tower alone contains 2,493 tons of steel and 93 tons of cast iron. The building at the base contains 985 tons of steel and 259 tons of cast iron.
The Tower has a viewing platform at 380ft above the promenade and is reached by a lift or if you are a maintanance worker by 536 steps!
Not for the feint hearted is the 'Walk of Faith' glass floor, a two inch clear panel that looks straight down to the Promenade below.
The 'Walk of Faith' glass floor panel was placed at the Tower top in 1998. The glass floor weighs half a tonne and is made up of two sheets of laminated glass. The 'Walk of Faith' can withstand the weight equivalent to five baby elephants.
To reach the top viewing platform at approximately 450ft you can walk up 2 flights of stairs.
The present Ballroom was designed by Frank Matcham and opened in 1899. The Ballroom floor measures 120ft by 102ft. It comprises 30,602 separate blocks of mahogany, oak and walnut. The first Wurlitzer organ was installed in the Ballroom in 1929. It was replaced in 1935 with one to Reginald Dixon's specification. The first organ went to the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens.
During the day visit the Ballroom to hear one of the famous organs being played. The Tower Ballroom is the traditional home of the mighty Wurlitzer Organ which rises up through the stage and complemented by the 3 Deck Wersi - the world's most advanced Blackpool Tower Ballroom - The Wurlitzer Organorgan, it includes over 600 sounds in the software, is touch screen sensitive and can create the sound of a complete orchestra.
The Tower Circus is positioned at the base of the tower, between its four legs. The circus first opened to the public on 14 May 1894 and has not missed a season since.

The present interior was designed by Frank Matcham and was completed in 1900.

The circus ring can be lowered into a pool of water and holds 42,000 gallons at a depth of up to 4 ft 6 inches, which allows for Grand Finales with Dancing Fountains. The Tower Circus is one of four left in the world that can do this.
During more than a century of entertainment, the world's greatest circus stars have paraded across its ring. The clown Charlie Cairoli appeared at the tower for 39 years. Britain's best-known ringmaster Norman Barrett worked the ring for 25 years.
Animals appeared in the circus until 1990.
It was planned to close the famous circus at the end of the 1990 season and replace it with an animatronic attraction. Public opinion and the fact the animatronics were not ready meant that the circus continued.
Today, the circus is produced and directed by Hungarian Laci Endresz. A live band (sometimes accompanied by Mooky the Clown) provides all the music for the show, often dynamically syncing with the performers' movements. The circus band play a variety of different songs, usually Latin for the acts. In the winter the circus stages a pantomime instead of the regular show.
The oldest part of the building is the aquarium which was part of Dr Cockers' Menagarie and Aquarium in the 1870s.[1] It was kept open to earn revenue while the tower building went up around it. The aquarium was modelled on the limestone caverns in Derbyshire. It houses 57 different species of fresh water and salt water fish and the largest tank holds 32,000 litres of salt water.[28]
The aquarium closed permanently at the end of the 2010 season and will be completely remodelled to make way for a new "Dungeons" attraction.[29] This is part of the investment by the Merlin Group, who took over the operation of the Tower at the end of the 2010 season on behalf of new owners Blackpool Council

Blackpool Centre - Town Centre

Distance 0.82 miles (1.31 km)
With around seven miles of fun packed coastline, Blackpool is the entertainment capital of Europe, and home to the world famous Blackpool Tower with its ballroom, circus, adventure play centre, aquarium and ride to the top of the tower. The tower also contains the nerve-wracking Walk of Faith - a glass floor, 380 feet above the ground that allows an unrestricted view of the street below. The town centre also hosts a variety of well known shops. It was the Victorians who developed Blackpool into a mega-resort, and in the early twentieth century they flocked here in their thousands to enjoy the fantastic combination of sun, sand and sea.
