Excellent Hotel
My wife and I stayed for one night at this hotel while visiting Bute to attend a Burns Supper. The accommodation was excellent for this type of hotel and the wifi was easy to use! Breakfast was first class. Highly recommended if you do not mind climbing a few stairs.

Bute In The Snow
We arrived late due to the weather and were checked in quickly, none the less. For the duration of the stay we were warmly looked after and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The views from our window were fantastic of a snow covered winter gardens. The breakfast in the morning was brilliant, we did not want for anything.

We will definitely stay there again.

Great Stay.
We have been at the Victoria a number of times and we would recommend it very much indeed.

The staff are very helpful and communicative, the food is first class as are the rooms.

The only downside to the hotel, which does not affect us, is the fact that there is no lift access, but the building does not lend itself to such a conversion and people should know that, should there be any question in their minds on that issue.

All in all, we as always, enjoyed our visit very much.

Pleasant Weekend Break
My partner and I stayed for 2 nights over a May weekend. We enjoyed the facilities on offer. Though outdated and in need of refurbishment, the hotel is ideal for a short getaway. The breakfast deserves accreditation. Presentation and quality were outstanding, though service was frenetic at times.

The room (209) was cramped, overpriced and uncomfortably hot throughout the stay. A quick glance out the window suggests the location of the kitchen directly below us may have elevated the temperature. As previously mentioned, 'ideal' for shorter breaks, however luxury is left wanting, if desiring a more spacious and aspirational setting.

Finally, the reception area requires an immediate upgrade. The approach via the stairs, the transparent windows and the lack of a formal welcoming desk do the hotel's image no favours.

Comfort And Peace
A friendly welcome immediately sets the tone for a stay in this hotel. I had a very comfortable single room on the top floor (no lift so plenty of cardio-vascular exercise each day going up and down!) with a view over the sea. A welcome tray with bottled water and fruit was appreciated. It was extremely quiet at night even with the window open - and very comfortable! The breakfasts were superb and served by a charming waitress who went out of her way to ensure that everyone was happy. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hopefully stay there again - but perhaps on the second floor next time! I award it a 5 star rating.

80th Birthday
We were very pleased with our accommodatio in the Hotel. The Staff were excellent and very helpful for the reception . the owner and the waitresses. The Food was excellent and a great selection of food. It was very relaxing and did not feel we had to rush our meals. The food at your sister Hotel the Esplanade was every bit as good and as at the Victoria staff very helpful and in no rush to wish us to leave.

We hope to use the Hotel again

Trying To Chill Out After Family Sadness
My two-night stay in the hotel was very comfortable. My only brief concern was when I went down to breakfast Thursday morning, the waitress said she had no record of me being booked in. I offered to speak to Receptionist to confirm but she said that it sometimes happens. Apart from that, staff were very welcoming. Am surprised that there are so many foreign nationals working in the hotel. Surely, it is possible to find UK nationals to come and work in the hotel?

Well Run Hotel
We enjoyed our stay at the Victoria Hotel. It's in a good location. The room was modern, clean and had good sea views. All the staff we dealt with were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was also good and served with a smile. It's on the main street so it can get a bit noisy with folk leaving the pub, that's the only downside I can see.

Hotel is positioned in the centre of the town.

The greeting we received on arrival was pleasant.

Breakfast was excellent- the staff excellent-

Would we book again a big YES from us.

The Victoria Hotel
Initially, I had reservations about my choice of this hotel when I saw it, due to its tired exterior. However, once inside these reservations changed to being quite pleased. The staff were absolutely wonderful, especially the ladies in the restaurant upstairs, where the food was extremely good. The bedroom was quite small for a double, but the views out to the sea were spectacular. Only downside was the noise of revellers and traffic when trying to get to sleep. The High Street seemingly has two loose manhole covers that are hit in rather quick succession by passing traffic, which was surprisingly quite a lot. I would certainly stay here again and recommend it, especially for the views and the restaurant.

Great Hotel
Had a short 2 night stay at the Victoria Hotel and what a lovely hotel. We booked online and the only room with a sea view was a twin room so I booked this but added a note asking if a double was available instead I would prefer this. I was very happy to see on arrival that they had given us a double. The room was spacious and comfortable with two comfortable chairs placed at the window to take in the beautiful sea view. The breakfast was excellent with a varied choice of juices, cereals, yoghurts, croissants, fresh fruit and of course the good old full Scottish which had everything you associate with a fried breakfast. The girl serving us on both our mornings was very pleasant and professional. We ate downstairs in the Ghillies bistro and it was gorgeous tasting and well presented, again great service. The only criticism I can give for the Victoria was the early check out time of 10.30am but the lady at reception was very nice and allowed us to leave our luggage with them until we were ready to go for our ferry. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.
