Hotel Description

The guesthouse and the cottage each have a quality rating of 4 Stars awarded by the AA. All nine bedrooms in the guest house each have en-suite bath or shower room, television and tea/coffee making facilities. The centre of the guest house was originally two late 18th century farm cottages and now houses five first floor single bedrooms and the ground floor breakfast room. The west wing has four spacious rooms used as double, twin and family bedrooms. Two are ground floor rooms and one has a shower room specially designed for people with restricted mobility and wheelchair users. We do not accept pets in the guest house. The extensive private gardens behind the guest house provide the perfect environment for relaxing. Self-catering accommodation is available, in static caravans or the cottage. There is ample parking in front of the guest house. Bridleways is an ideal base for visiting the many local attractions in this delightful part of Robin Hood country. There is direct access on foot along the bridlepath to Vicar Water Country Park and its fishing lake, and to Sherwood Pines Forest Park with its splendid walks and cycle routes and the tree top excitement of 'Go Ape'. Clipstone Forest, which is on the National Cycle Route, is 5 minutes ride along the bridlepath that forms the boundary of Bridleways. The market town of Mansfield with its shopping centres, pubs, clubs, restaurants and theatre is only a matter of minutes away.

Sherwood Forest Golf Club extends a very warm welcome to our visitors.
You will find us in the East Midlands to the east of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, U.K., as a long established heathland course alongside the pines, silver birch and oak trees of Clipstone Woods within the legendary Sherwood Forest. We are a short distance from tourist areas of the Major Oak Visitor Centre at Edwinstowe, Clumber Park in the Dukeries, Center Parcs Holiday Village and the City of Nottingham.

We are most proud of our reputation as one of the finest heathland golf courses in Great Britain. The English Golf Union, when staging the 2006 England Boys Amateur Stroke Play Championships, described Sherwood Forest Golf Club as being 'in a league of its own'. As a premier course the club has hosted many national competitions over the years, including the 'British and English Seniors' and regional qualifying for the 'Open Championship'.
